Critical Reflection

1. Module learning: Before the start of this module, I thought this module is just about how to communicate, which is a waste of time. However, my perspective of this module is totally different now. Communication is not just about talking. It is a skill set that is crucial in society. The goals I set at the start of the course was to improve on my presentation skills, language use in both written & spoken. Back in Polytechnic, in every presentation, I would always present with a mixture of English and Singlish, nobody sees that as a problem and no one corrected me hence it built up as a bad habit that I brought over to the university. It was then until the mock presentation, Prof Brad gave very constructive feedback about my use of Singlish that I don't even realize at all and that one recommendation for improvement that Prof told me was to talk to myself in front of the mirror, initially I thought that was stupid but I was very wrong. 1. Introduction 1.1 Background information This report has been developed in response to the Call for Proposal (CFP) made by Land Transport Authority (LTA) for creating a solution to reduce the number of illegally modified e-scooters and Personal Mobility Devices(PMDs) in Singapore. PMD was first introduced in Singapore in 2013 as an alternative means of transport to help make public transport a more palatable option for commuters (Nim, 2015). However, PMDs and scooters have since then become devices used by many to serve their own needs such as to roam around Singapore, deliver food or even as a form of transport. According to Cheng (2019), big companies like McDonald’s and Foodpanda have started using PMDs in their daily operations of food deliveries and have been continuing to do so. Draft #3 Summary_Reader Response: Cross Island Investigation

According to Neo (2018) the article states that “Nature Group Seeks More Information on Impact of Cross Island Site Investigation”, nature group wants to know about the environmental impact caused by the drilling works from the Land Transport Authority(LTA) and welcomes the public to submit any queries about the impact to the authority. The drilling of 16 boreholes was done to find a suitable condition for the line to be constructed, either tunneling under nature reserve or skirting around it. An environmental impact assessment was done after the drilling work and it shows a moderate impact if alleviation measures were taken. When being questioned whether the statement is true, LTA remains quiet. LTA also fails to provide the frequency of animal sightings before and after the work is done. As the authority fails to provide sufficient information, it worries the nature group thus questions are being compiled and hope LTA would provide assurance and address their concern about the enviro...
